Josh was born in Lafayette, IN on February 3, 1972. At 6 weeks, he moved with his family to Crystal, MN, where he spent his life until June of this year. He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1990, after completing one year of Post Secondary Early Enrollment Option at Bethel College. He attended Bethel College and the University of Minnesota, completing his individualized BS with a major in Political Science in June 1999. In the Twin Cities, he worked at the University of Minnesota, Damon Farber Associates, Manhattan Toy Company, and GE Capital Consulting, among others. He had many interests throughout his life, including water-skiing, camping, downhill skiing, fishing, canoeing, horses, and video games. He dabbled in karate, cross country, and track & field in school. He loved singing in school, college, community, and church choirs. He loved music, especially contemporary Christian music. He performed for years at the Renaissance Festival. He learned sign language. He taught classes about the Internet as a volunteer at the Minneapolis Public Library. He loved animals, especially cats. He loved poetry. He enjoyed all aspects of computers and communicated regularly by e-mail. He was a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Josh felt passion about everything he did and believed. He was a man of principle and integrity. He was a perfectionist and wanted to do everything to the best of his ability. He was a deeply committed Christian, being very active for years in the Church of the Open Door. It was here that he met Sara M. Teigen, formerly from Fargo, ND, whom he married on June 21, 1997. They knew quickly the depth of their love for each other and that love only deepened as they played and planned their lives together. In June of this year, he accepted a job with Comsun Inc. of Boulder, CO, a small computer support network company. He moved to Westminster, CO, with his wife and two cats, Missy and Scrip. In moving to Colorado, Sara and he were following their dream. They found a wonderful Christian community at the Flatirons Community Church. He had a great job and a great boss. His clients loved him. He talked openly with them about the love he had for his wife. Sara found full-time employment, being hand-picked for a job in human resources in a local company. Josh found the move liberating, becoming more open and full of joy than he was previously able to be. He made new friends quickly, who greeted both Sara and him with open arms. Living in Colorado offered Josh the opportunity to take up skiing in a big way. It was on the slopes, fulfilling his dream, that he met his death. While skiing on opening weekend in Keystone last Saturday, he had an accident - he fell, hit his head on a rock, and died instantly. He literally "skied down the mountain into the arms of angels." He was a cautious man, always planning and being the best prepared he could be. He had cooked Sara's favorite foods the week before. He discussed with her what she should do if he were to die, the day before his death, including his desire to be cremated.. His departure from this life left all who knew him with a hole in our lives that will be difficult to heal. Funeral services were in Lafayette, CO, on Wednesday of this week. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm next Monday, 11/15/99, at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 1200 69th Avenue North, Brooklyn Center. Pastor Todd Bullock will be presiding. All who knew him are invited to come to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Send to Joshua Colglazier Memorial Fund, c/o Flatirons Community Church, Coal Creek Mall, 400 W.
